Why I Decided to Write a Book on Community-Building for Women

If there’s one theme that has followed me through my journey as a leader, speaker, and business coach, it’s community. For years, I’ve had a front row seat to see how a supportive network can transform not only businesses, but business owners themselves.
That’s why I decided it was time to capture those lessons in one place and write my new book, Helium: Leveraging the Power of Community to Lift Yourself and Others.
The Spark That Started It All
The idea for Helium came during a season when I noticed a growing disconnect among the women around me. Even though so many were connected online through masterminds, workshops and social feeds, there was something missing: a sense of true support and belonging.
What I've realized is that what most of us crave isn’t just connection, but community.: the kind that lifts you up when you forget why you started in the first place.

Why “Helium”?
I chose the title Helium for my new book since it perfectly captures what true community helps us do: rise.
When we're surrounded by people who believe in our potential, we begin to see possibilities everywhere. Our LIFT Crew (outlined in Chapter 8) helps us to find courage, momentum, and clarity.
And just like helium in a balloon, that shared energy doesn’t just lift us — it lifts everyone around us as well.
What the Book Explores
In this book, I dive into LIFT Theory, which is at the heart of building an uplifting community. Using this theory, I walk readers step-by-step through launching an uplifting, impact-driven community.
Inside, you’ll learn how to:
Assemble your own LIFT Crew
Rise above the limiting thoughts that hold you down
Lead with purpose in ways that elevate everyone around you
... and much more!
Personal Stories and Experiences
This book is full of stories. Over the years, I’ve been lifted by so many incredible women—mentors, colleagues, and clients—who have shared their wisdom and encouragement when I needed it most. Helium is my way of passing that lift along.
What I've learned is that when we invest time, energy and resources to build a strong community around us, we're investing in something far bigger than ourselves. We're building ecosystems of support, creativity, and resilience that ripple outward in ways we can’t always predict, but that always matter.

Looking Ahead
My hope is that Helium will inspire leaders, entrepreneurs, and changemakers everywhere to rethink connection and collaboration. Because the truth is, none of us are meant to succeed alone. And the view is so much better when we rise together.
P.S. I'd love for you to join us for the launch of Helium on Nov. 13th (6:30 pm - 8:30 pm) at The Livery Yard in Stratford. Click here to save your seat!
