How can business envy hold us back from our own success?

Confession time: I used to spend a lot of time obsessing over other small business owners’ success and how “easy” it seemed to come to them.
The truth is, when we compare our own success to someone else’s, three things happen:
Business envy shifts our focus away from our own growth. Instead of improving our business, we waste energy watching someone else’s every move.
Business envy creates self-doubt where confidence should be. The more we compare, the more we question our own pricing, content, ideas, and abilities, even when we’re fully capable.
Business envy keeps us stuck in scarcity. When we believe someone else’s success means less opportunity for us, we play smaller instead of expanding.
